That's also the response of the Westboro Baptist Church to most of the general public.

Just sayin'

If you want to be a pessimistic dick, please do so in another thread. This is a thread to discuss current events, not to ridicule yourself by stating how much you want people to die.

I, Citation Needed, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty network can never be purged away but with blood.

exactly

I am so glad someone understands

Apologies for being so extreme in my previous post. I just have some serious issues with rednecks being rednecked and having stupidity and self-endangerment broadcast to large audiences.

The thing that bugs me about reality TV shows and stuff is that the camera people don't do anything about some of the things that go on.

I mean, not everything that's done requires reporting, but there's some shit where the stars of the show get into some serious shit and you just have to wonder, why the fuck are the camera people still taping this shit?

I mean, like when people injure themselves, they tape the family calling the ambulance and bumbling over their words and shit and forgetting who to call in the first place. CALL THE GODDAMN EMS YOURSELVES.

That's what bugs me about these shows.

North Korea confirmed for craziest country ever.

THey've announced that their military has been cleared to attack with "smaller, lighter, and diversified nuclear weapons".

In other news, Yahoo movie newswriter inserts a bit of opinion into an article, which is hilarious and everyone should read it.
It's not a pop flyin' ending for Warner Bros. as "Jack the Giant Slayer" is the latest reason why Hollywood should maybe reconsider this whole revisionist fairy tale thing.

Director Bryan Singer's mega-budget screen adaptation of the "Jack and the Beanstalk" yarn has made for that rare mega-bomb for the studio, as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the film is on track to lose somewhere between $125 and $140 million when the dust clears. Admittedly, WB and financial partner Legendary Pictures smelled more than the blood of an Englishman pretty early on with this project, as it was pulled from a Summer 2012 release and underwent a title change ("Slayer" was swapped out for the much more malevolent-sounding "Killer").

"Jack," which opened on March 1, currently has a U.S. gross of just over $61 million and an overseas gross of about $96 million, putting its worldwide total at around $157 million. The film had a budget cost of about $200 million and marketing expenses totaling around $100 million.

WB executives seemed to expect a modest box office performance domestically but were hoping to score major overseas numbers, a la "Clash of the Titans" and its sequel, "Wrath of the Titans." However, "Jack" has been slow overseas due to stiff competition from both Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful" and Paramount's "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" ... and perhaps also due to the fact that maybe nobody wants to see a stupid Jack and the Beanstalk movie with stupid-looking CG giants.

You can't get more factual than a true opinion.

You know what, this Pope Francis guy is a pretty cool dude. I've always thought that the problem with the Church was that they preach that those who are last on Earth will be first in Heaven, those with less will have more, etc., but yet they operate as a business and the CEO lives in a palace.

I was reading this news article about how he broke the rules at some press thing to bless a guide dog, and I thought "aww, that's kind of adorable" but further down in the article they quoted him saying:
“Ah, how I would like a Church that is poor,” he added, outlining his plans to make a Catholic Church an institution “of the poor, for the poor.”
and also found this on Wikipedia
Throughout his life, both as an individual and a religious leader, he has been known for his humility, his concern for the poor, and his commitment to dialogue as a way to build bridges between people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and faiths. Since his election to the papacy, he has displayed a simpler and less formal approach to the office, including a decision to reside in the Vatican guesthouse rather than the papal residence used by his predecessors since 1903.
So he doesn't live in the papal residence, and instead lives in the guest house. Probably still remarkably high class, but certainly a step down from the normal papal residence, I would believe?

I don't know much about how he's handling the abuse scandals that he inherited from the last guy, but aside from those he seems to be taking the Church in the right direction.
