Re: The Current Events Thread
It says Republic of Korea, which is the far more likely southern counterpart to North Korea.

North Korea is called the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the message is sent from Pyong Yang.

If this is legitimate, I feel like TPB is just going to be used for North Korea's purposes and there will be no one to help them if things go bad.

There are too many new people on here.

I still dont think what he did was wrong. Okay, leaking troop movements and base security stuff is, but the other stuff? If the army doesnt want their war crimes exposed, maybe they shouldnt do them in the first place?

Re: The Current Events Thread
But it's the principle of the thing!
I do like how the media has selectively ignored the fact that he was detained in solitary for months and allegedly beaten and tortured.
But no, the military was nothing but nice to him and he tattled their secrets. How terrible.
I can see both sides, but yeah, the military is far from innocent, and I wish the news and the people would stop acting otherwise, or stop treating it like a minor thing.

Re: The Current Events Thread
Considering the incredibly invasive military culture the US has, Im not surprised. I honestly dont get how they stand it, if you criticize the army for ANY reason, or want to cut spending or dont tape those stupid ribbons to your car, youre a commie traitor who dont care about the people who go to other countries and shoot at their citizens. And any crimes committed by soldiers dont count because civilians just dont get it and how stressfull it is to sign up for a job you know is dangerous and then snap when the people youre invading dont like having you around and dare to actually try to shoot back.

South Korea is just Republic of Korea, the name used in the message. Missed the PYONGYANG part, my mistake.Syobon wrote:North Korea is called the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the message is sent from Pyong Yang.
I'm going to guess it's a joke, maybe? If they do move to NK, I still wouldn't care much.

Hugo Chavez finally died of the cancer that he's been fighting for the past couple years.
I can't wait to hear my annoying coworker telling me about how this is a wonderful thing.

Re: The Current Events Thread
AGAIN with that shit?! Man, they just dont give up, do they?
Re: The Current Events Thread
They have unlimited time, corporate "gifts" for bringing it up, aren't likely to be voted out because media doesn't give press time to anything below presidential elections, and need some way to justify their ever-increasing paycheck when budget cuts come.TheStranger wrote:AGAIN with that shit?! Stuff goes here later.
