The writer the NYT used usually does articles about oil companies and pro oil stuff, some people think they were trying to see if they could win HIM over, it would be a great leap for electric cars. Should have just used their car dudes.Syobon wrote:Influence of the oil conglomerates maybe.
And yeah, the article is weird, but you get the gist of the NYT fiasco. Everyone is just kinda assuming there aren't going to be any more technological leaps and bounds with Tesla, because they totally haven't done any at all yet.

The Thirteenth Amendment now officially ratified by all 50 of the United States.
Mostly just a formality, but still.

I think the worst part about it is that all those jokes had to be approved by whoever looked over his speeches, etc.
Not only did he repeatedly make horrible and unfunny jokes, but they were allowed explicitly by the people running the show.

A man from Florida was in his bed when a sinkhole suddenly opened and he fell into it. It's quite deep so I'd think it's unlikely he'd survive.
This could make for a portal to hell joke but I think it would be in poor taste.
They also did lower equipment into the hole but found no sign of him.

I wonder how many people have nightmares about that exact thing happening?

Florida suffers a lot of sinkholes due to its geological composition. Most of the state is made of limestone and water, and when the aquifers dry up or get pumped out, the land can't support itself, especially with buildings on top of it.

Re: The Current Events Thread
I sometimes worry about this happening in the Hill Country over here.
Especially when we have a massive aquifer under limestone.
Not sure how likely it is the happen, but it's a bit unnerving.
