OKAY DUDES, we (the proletariats) are trying something out and are going to be locking the Current Events thread until further notice. You are strongly encouraged to make threads about whatever various news articles you find. If you need to continue any discussion, you can make new threads about any of the stories previously posted in here.
We're going to see how this goes for a while before deciding if the lock will be permanent. Thank you!

NASA launched Landsat 8 into orbit. This is pretty cool. The Landsat program is the longest-running satellite-image collection program in the world. It's a joint project between NASA and the US Geological Survey. The Landsat image archive is available to pretty much anybody with a computer.
Here's a gallery of images taken.

Russia hit by meteorite fragments. Pretty much all the injuries are related to falling glass. One of the three fragments found left a crater six meters in diameter.

Europe has allowed the use of MBM (meat & bone meal) in fish farming to, well, feed the fishes (duh). I cannot find a link to this news story in English.
For those who don't know or don't remember, the last time we fed MBM to animals in Europe in the late 90's, the mad cow crisis happened, resulting in a lot of cattle contracting BSE and having to be put down, and humans contracting Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease through infected meat. It's a big trauma that's being brought up every time MBM use is talked about.
While I hope that this won't cause another crisis, we won't be buying much fish in the coming years.

EU has crazy strict health&safety regulations for food now anyway, if those apply to the fish food we should be fine.

New York Times does a pretty negative review of the Tesla Model S/Supercharge Stations, Tesla finds out the reviewer fabricated results
CNN had two people drive the same route with very different results. (CNN out newsed the NYT, in other words)
Why is Tesla having so much trouble with the press? Everyone seems to try to destroy them.

What the hell is with that article? It starts out okay, then gradually turns into an opinion piece, finishing with a statement about car prices.Lotharu wrote:New York Times does a pretty negative review of the Tesla Model S/Supercharge Stations, Tesla finds out the reviewer fabricated results
