Re: The Current Events Thread
Well you know Facebook likes are ambiguous. He might have liked that the kid was caught before following through with his plan.
Re: The Current Events Thread
Or he may have meant "Hey that's a really interesting article."
The kid is a sociopath. Snuck into his parents' bedroom to take the guns from their hiding place, executed his mother in cold blood, executed his little brother after he "became upset" at being shown the mother's bloody head, then executed both of his little sisters when he entered their room and they were crying. Then he waited for his dad to come home from his night job and executed him probably the moment he walked through the door.
I also wonder about that "girlfriend" of his and why she did nothing. Was she too scared? Or compliant in the murder? Did she learn of his intent to shoot up a Walmart and divert him from it? Or just not care and whatevs gonna hang?

The thing that really got me about that article. He's two years too young to even play those games. How did he acquire them? I really hate when the media uses video games as a scapegoat for violent crimes.Malum wrote:Of course they mention the videogames he played

So... they're afraid that rapists will get away with rape, by ensuring the victim gets an abortion to get rid of the evidence.
So, they need to scare rape victims from getting abortions, so the definitive proof isn't lost.
Or how about, keeping the aborted fetus for DNA tests, or using rape kits properly. Getting harder on rapists and sex offenders.
Jesus Christ.

Re: The Current Events Thread
Who actually supports these bills?
Like, I actually want to hear the reasoning of the person who looked at this bill and said "yes, this is a good idea"

Re: The Current Events Thread
A lot of people in America seem to have the tendency to support anything "their" party does no matter what it is. It's just more obvious with republicans because the republicans in office are really fucked up beings.

Re: The Current Events Thread
It doesn't help that a vast, vast majority of people making laws like these are male, and have no fucking idea what an abortion, etc, is like.

The Canadian province of Ontario elected a homosexual woman as its new prime minister.
Let's see how Harper's conservatives will handle that.

Re: The Current Events Thread
We've had a female president for two terms, two female PMs and a gay president canditate from the green party who earned 37% of the votes in the second round last year.
