Yeah, the Media seems to think that "Anonymous" is some collective of people with one unified goal, when in reality it's whatever group of people have decided to do something without being identified recently.

They're thinking groups more like LULZSEC.

The Catholic Church believes that all human life is sacred. The only things that they believe are sinful about homosexuality are the sex and the marriage aspects.

The Church doesn't hate them as human beings; they just believe that sex between two people of the same gender and marriage between two people of the same gender is sinful, but not to the point of allowing them to be killed by a group/government. That's what I learned when I went to Catholic high school merely a few years ago, but I guess the Pope thinks otherwise right now in 2012. Either the Pope didn't read the Catechism of the Catholic Church, or that's what their standing is from now on.

Back in freshmen year of high school at a Catholic institution, one of the semesters of Theology that I took discussed human sexuality and how it deals with Catholic theology. What I learned in that semester is that the Catholic Church believed that human beings who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered, deserve as much respect and kindness as any other human being. However, sex with someone of the same gender was deemed sinful in the eyes of God and the Catholic Church, as well as marriage between two people of the same gender. My teacher at that time was formerly a Catholic priest, and has re-entered the priesthood as of late. I, in my own opinion, do not believe that either sex or marriage between two individuals of the same gender is wrong. However, I did learn that the Church believed that these were merely sins that a person could confess and perform penance for. Maybe that was the case back in 2008/2009 (the two semesters of my Freshman year), maybe Benedict is making a huge mistake, but his recent actions go against what I was taught back then; that the Catholic Church views all life as sacred, and that no individual sin, mortal or otherwise, is worthy of the death penalty.

Belgium is historically a Catholic country (although the majority of the populace now a days is deistic, agnostic or atheistic and not terribly religious at any rate), and from what I've seen Catholics these days stand for their own beliefs rather than bowing down to the central Catholic authority. There is a lot of malcontent with the Church leaders and figureheads, in large part due to the atrocious way they handled all the paedophilia scandals. This has also resulted in conflict within the Church organization itself, on multiple controversial issues.

Speaking of the Pope, Penn & Teller did an episode on The Vatican once. Yes, the show is first and foremost meant as entertainment, but these guys go to extensive lengths to provide hard facts. Watch it if you haven't.

The Vatican episode was actually pulled off the DVD's so it's one of the ones I haven't seen before, thank you for this entertainment in my actually blank schedule.

TotalBisuit made a good video regarding the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary and about old media and how it doesn't have to give any respect to new forms of media such as videogames.

When has any old media ever given ANY respect to new media? Older generations are utterly terrified of anything replacing what they know, so they cling to what they know like drowning men.
