Re: The Current Events Thread
Puerto Rico becomes a state.
The only fix I can think of: DAKOTA
or, combine both Virginias? Carolinas?
or a janky flag, i'm fine with all options.
In all seriousness, I think it'd really be a great thing if the United States officially grew past 50.

I'm surprised we've not tried claiming the moon.

Pluto's not big enough to be a state.
A dwarf state maybe.

Re: The Current Events Thread
They just have to add another star to the flag, not that big a deal. Just do it in rows of 8 and 9 alternating. 9-8-9-8-9-8. And who the hell's gonna go out and buy a new flag just because theirs is outdated? Just keep flying the old one and hope no one notices it's missing a star. Or tell them someone tore a star off.

Stuff goes here later.
Re: The Current Events Thread
You want to know how outdated my flag is? It still has only 13 stars in a circle from the evolutionary war!Guyperson wrote:They just have to add another star to the flag, not that big a deal. That actually looks pretty cool. The pattern is five-sided, so the stars sort of make a bigger star.

Guys, what if, you guys, we like, made a star, right, out of other stars.
No but seriously this is pretty exciting stuff. What if Puerto Rico becomes a state during our lifetime, and then when we get old we can be like I remember when I was a young'un and we only had 50 states
I know that they have to make it through Congress and all that, but does anyone know what specifically they have to do? And is there any big reason that Congress members might be opposed to it? This is the kind of situation where I'd be afraid of some party making up some dumb reason to say no just to start a bunch of partisan BS, but I really hope not.

Re: The Current Events Thread
The real question on statehood is, will it join the union as a free state or a slave state?

My vote is on a Pepsi State.
I wish more states would meet in the middle and become Dr. Pepper States.
Texas is getting pretty lonely being the only state not participating in the Coke vs. Pepsi issue.

But who'll be the 52nd? Place your bets. I'm betting on Quebec.
Character is what you are in the dark.
