A Pastor in Missouri gives a speech against equal rights for homosexuals, with a twist
If you don't want to watch the video (I can't, I'm at work) here's the transcript.
It's definitely a unique way to present an argument, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Subsides would go far in making it cheaper. And people are always whining about not having jobs, so a massive project to construct electric charge stations would help, no? I dunno what you mean by changing roads into electric roads thoughThe Big Cheese wrote:Not to mention having to retrofit all roads to electric ones, or just adapting them in, is a major time and cheddar consuming task that would take years. Not to mention construction charge stations all over the world like gas stations are. Plus, its not like everyone will just change overnight. A lot of people wouldn't be able to afford it anyway, electric cars aren't cheap.

For the idea to make stuff that recharges the car while you're driving, to increase the time until you have to recharge.

Re: The Current Events Thread
isn't there already something in production that converts friction into power for cars? And how long until we get boost power?

Re: The Current Events Thread
Oh well we don't need anything like that quite yetD-vid wrote:For the idea to make stuff that recharges the car while you're driving, to increase the time until you have to recharge.

Re: The Current Events Thread
So how about that Lance Armstrong? It's been a public secret for over a century now that everyone uses doping, is it time for them to change their policy or take even more radical action? In related news, a big team sponsor retreated from the sport (Rabobank), stating they're disgusted with it or something.
Re: The Current Events Thread
Let them dope. They want to destroy themselves for a chance at a hollow accomplishment? Be my fucking guest.
I thought Lance was different.

Fashion Designer Mandy Caruso dressed as Black Cat for Comic-Con and complains about sexual harassment.
I don't understand. If she did not want people ogling her and making crude comments, then why did she dress up as a scantily-clad superhero in the first place?

That attitude you have there is commonly referred to as Slut-Shaming. It's frowned upon, and it's a bad argument anyway. Wearing a Black Cat outfit does not mean she was thinking "Oh man, I hope every strange, greasy fanboy comes up and compliments my tits." It meant she liked Black Cat and wanted to dress as Black Cat.

Re: The Current Events Thread
I know that the crude comments and such are wrong, but why is it sexual harassment for men, who are biologically attracted to women, to simply stare at a woman who is dressed in a provocative outfit?
This reminds me of when Simon Pegg was slammed for making a joke about a group of Leia cosplayers. Cosplayer Chloe Dykstra posted an article about that and I believe that the points she makes in her article ( in regards to men looking at women dressed in provocative outfits) fit just as well in this situation.

Simon Pegg was stating his attraction to a group of women in a photograph. Natural, yes, and the women involved are completely unaffected.
Mandy Caruso had several people ask her about her breasts very insistently. That's an invasion of privacy and common decency.
