I read in the paper that Facebook is being sued for falsified information concerning it's drop in stock value.

This is going to be interesting how it turns out. One one hand, China has a ton of people and economic power. On the other, Japan kicked their booty repeatedly before the World Wars, and during it, despite that. Not to mention China and Japan are both critical to the United States for trading and technology.

Wait, so the Chinese are angry about the possesion of some islands, officially?

Because honestly it looks more like everyone hates the Japanese with a passion for little to no reason.

Basically China didn't give a roaring shit about the islands until 1968, when it was suggested they might have oil. Then they suddenly cared, despite the bit about it being under Japanese control for a long time, then under US control during World War II, and given back to Japan to help them rebuild.

I'm not entirely sure why the topic suddenly exploded though.

The actual underlying issue is apparently the war crimes Japan committed during WWII and never atoned for. It seems China's government is looking for a confrontation, because they are heavily fanning the flames of these riots.

Funny how China brings up war crimes while ignoring its own atrocities. A confrontation would not be good for either side.

It really is incredible how the Chinese government appears to have swayed their public so universally. I knew that China's government had a strong hold on the people, but this is so extreme. Or maybe there was a lot more anti-Japan sentiment amongst the public than I would've thought.

It is a whole different world in China. The government controls information. We can search Google and find news from all over the world. Chinese can only find news their government permits. Nothing against the government is allowed, everything is always fine, and dissension is silence immediately.

It's not hard to turn the hearts of a people who are used to obeying.

I'm pretty sure the majority of the Chinese already hated Japan, the government just had to throw some oil on there.

Ugh, this is all so incredibly primitive and depressing.

It's like some sort of Chinese krystallnacht. Why did they have to go to such extremes as destruction of property and arson?

Some game developers are in prison in Greece because they were "spying"

So uh, yeah this isn't cool guys.

I think the sad part about this is, one of the world's major economic and military powers is showing overt signs of aggression towards another nation, and yet it's not on the front page of any major news sites.

Instead we get more angry muslims.
