I find this Texas bashing funny too.

If you haven't noticed, the other 42 states haven't done much of anything to make gay marriage legal either. Don't turn this into a "herp derp texans are so dumb lololol", because at this point the other states are just as guilty of apathy towards the subject as Texas.

I find it amusing that it's 2010 and people are still debating over something like this
Meh, narrow-minded conservatives

While I don't endorse the bashing of Texas, I have to point this out.

There is a difference between "apathy" and "resistance".

It is probably better for this to go in the Taboo Topics thread, but;

I have seen no outward resistance from Texas. This is not to say it doesn't exist because that would be an appeal to ignorance. But if it has happened, Texas would certainly not be alone in its resistance. I can almost guarantee that a number of other states would "resist", if they wouldn't why hasn't it been legalized in a majority of states presently?

I didn't get to say this earlier, but awesome job California.
Bout' time someone took a step forward.

And this is why we can't have serious threads.

Is this more of in support of it, or rather just a "I don't want to stop it thing."
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

This was a serious thread?

Bacon just said it was like a celebratory thread.

Since when have celebrations ever ended seriously?

As a conservative I take offense to being called Narrow-minded.

What I want to know is why this is even a problem. Gay people have all of the same rights as straight people. Everything offered to a married couple is also offered to a civil union. The only thing they were fighting for was being able to use a piece of paper with "Marriage" on it instead of "Civil Union."
If something I say offends you, it was probably a sarcastic joke.

I could care less about all this. Why? There are more important things going on in the world right now. :T
