Everyone in my community is all up in arms about this. "Oh shit if California's doing it then our state might follow suit!" "I don't want fags being all gay and getting gay germs all over our kids!" "Time to rally and protest because this directly affects us in a bad way."
To be honest I'm actually kind of surprised it's not becoming legal in New York. I always thought we were at least a fairly liberal progressive state, and if that's good for anything, it should be something like this.
