technically *pushes up glasses* there is no set size for an eva as no scale was ever chosen for it and the scale actually varies in different shots based on what was cooler

although at this point it's been p much stated they're 40 meters tall right

Is that Psyco Gundam about to teach Hong Kong a lesson? Because I think it's Psyco Gundam about to teach Hong Kong who's boss.

A lightsaber is already the equivalent of a vorpal blade though. Just swing and whatever it passes through gets chopped. What's the point of making a weapon that doesn't need momentum bigger and clunkier?

because this is w40k where things are based off of how cool they are, not how efficient they are

Because in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

the grimness and/or coolness of a weapon is proportionally aligned to its usefulness

because the heft and weight matters when fighting other weapons of the same type.

if you had a normal lightsaber (or equivalent in the 40k uni) vs a powersword, the strength of the user+ the weight of the weapon bearing down on it would most likely screw over the other guy

Pass the blade.

Seriously there's a whole swordstyle in the expanded universe that involves swinging the saber, turning it off before impact, then turning it on again as you move past the opponent. Or baiting the opponent into blocking your attack and then doing the same thing so they whiff air and you chop through them. The one trying to use the lightsaber like a sword loses.

40k powerswords have physical components that propel the field I think, so they can't be turned off that way.

That would make it a tad more difficult.
