What is wrong with you guys beetles are awesome.

If I had one of those crawling on me I would say "HEY GUYS CHECK THIS OUT IT IS AWESOME"

...Unless it's venomous.

I've held a female stag beetle in my hands before, she was big, just not as big as the goliath.

They're gentle creatures are beetles - she never even thought about biting me.

Those first two pictures sort of have the right shell, but no, the head looked completely different. It had literal, fuzzy, wiggly moth feelers. Like a lunar moth. I'm trying to find something that looks like the head shape but no luck yet.

If the "bitey bits" (I have no idea if they actually use those for biting, I still just assume anything sharp and pointy is a danger) were a bit bigger, that's what its head looked like. But with the lunar moth-like feelers and then the really vibrant zebra shell.

One time I was in my room and a giant moth flew of the lamp and onto my head/eyes. Although they're not meant to be dangerous this one was flapping it's fluffy wings in my eyes arghhhhh. I screamed the house down.

The other time I drew my curtains over and a big moth flew out and I ran out the room and wouldn't go back in untill it was caught (or dealt with).

I am very scared of moths.

That makes me sad and disappoint - all these creatures have as much right to be here as we do.

A long time ago, I was walking to school with someone who I thought was a friend when he stepped on a snail intentionally. I had to stop myself from punching him on the day, but I expressed my disgust for his actions quite vocally.

It upset me so much that I distanced myself from him after that.

I can't stand senseless brutality - against any living creature.

Why would you even hurt a snail, let alone just kill it for no reason? ): They can't even claw or bite us.

I am afraid of bugs. I have really, really bad arachnophobia, but I'll even let spiders carry on their business unharmed as long as they don't present themselves to be a threat.

I will not automatically smash a spider if I catch it crawling on me, but I will brush it off quite violently because... well, I can't stop myself because that automatically sends me into panic mode. But if one crawls past me, whatever, it can enjoy life. Just as long as it doesn't suddenly dash towards me or do something to indicate it thinks I'm a danger to it and it's going to fight instead of take off. If I feel a spider's going to bite me, fuck it, I'm smashing it with the nearest useable object.

I agree with you - if it's a tiny little bug then fine. I'm okay with ladybugs, fly's (flies)?, snails etc. However, if a spider as big as a 10 pence piece (or bigger) I would immediately try and get it off me.

I sort of agree with what you say DnD that they have as much of a right as us to be here, well then people who see a deadly spider aren't going to think that - espescially if they start laying eggs.

Yeah. Spiders freak me out sometimes, but I'm still willing to scoop them up on a piece of paper and throw them outside instead of kill them. Wolf spiders though, those things are big and scary. They're not poisonous but they are very very agile and kind of aggressive.

Also I love beetles, I wish we had cool beetles around here.

Also whoever posted the luna moth OH MY GOODNESS. I love those, they are so beautiful. Fun fact: They don't have mouths because they only live for like seven days.
please stop that right now

I posted that.

THAT'S SO SAD. ;___;

It's like the cicadas - spending all those years underground for just a few days out in the sunlight.

I'm a stereotypical girl in that the only bugs I love are butterflies (derp hello stereotypical ankle tattoo of mine), ladybugs, and then... well, I guess I'm a little weird in that I also love moths and snails.

Lots of bugs are really cool to look at but despite what I've heard a lot of bug enthusiasts say (learn about them, you'll get over your fears), no matter how much I try to take an interest in learning about bugs, I get the hibbie jibbies and can't read anymore about them.

Like cockroaches. They're got such a terrible rep when in reality they're pretty much the exact opposite but ohmygod get it away from me i can't stand looking at all those intricate little details of it BLAAAAAAAAGAKLGDS
