I can't believe I'm saying this, but lay off the kid's dA page. Every little kid creates their own little stories and fantasies, and that's good for development. It teaches them creativity, and imbibes them with a love of the arts, both seen and read. They put their work on the internet because they're proud of their work and want to share it with others. They're ignorant of its vicious side because they haven't experienced it, and it's not up to you to introduce it to them. Does their work stink? Yes, there's no question about that. But that's because we're judging it by adult standards, by standards which they are incapable of reaching at their age. There's a different expectation, and they shouldn't be criticized for hard work. I'm not saying that they need to be pampered with compliments, but they shouldn't exactly be peppered with insults, either. Little kids naturally draw crappy art, and that's not an excuse to shit on it. Everything we do when we're little sucks. Hell, I've still got a story I wrote in the 5th grade in my nightstand drawer. I thought it was hilarious when I wrote it. My friends thought it was hilarious, too. But looking back, it is an unfunny piece of garbage. I know this because I have experience and knowledge that I did not possess at the time, and with age comes wisdom, a wisdom that is unattainable at a young age. Even what I did a mere two years ago sucks, judging by my dA gallery. I know I've made fun of little kids before, specifically forum members here, and I suppose that saying all this does make me a hypocrite. But I never claimed to be perfect, and I never claimed that what I did was right. I was caught up in the moment, like many of you are now, but time was kind enough to grant me perspective.

I suppose the gist of what I'm trying to say is lay off the little kids on dA, all right? Don't do the deprecating, instead leave the deprecating to themselves when they're older.

It's all right to correct her, I'm just saying don't be arbitrarily a dick to her.

We're all little upstanding members of society inside when we're young and unexposed to the internet.
