That's what you get when you use the same line thickness for eyebrows and eyelids.
The book looks like it's melting and fusioning with his arm.

...For some reason, due to the way the book is slanted, it reminds me of something from one of the Pajama Sam games.

Hair covering the whole face, and the eyes are looking like they are liquid and will pearl off the face any second
