if your doing it in windows movie maker, you just upload the music file to WMV and paste it in the video.

click "upload audio" (or something like that I dunno)
pick the song
just drag it to the timeline (where the pictures go)
and while your at it you should lower the audio of the song so that it doesn't overshadow your talking, but I cant remember how to do that off the top of my head.

Yeah I can only merge the 'reading' with the track, I can't have them in two separate sections, like movies/audio.

As far as I know the easiest way to get around that is to just save it as a video first, then put that video in the timeline where the picture goes I think I don't know it's been forever since I've done anything in WMM

If I add music, expect any sort of 'update' to be seriously long. Like, a whole week's worth.
