God dammit, people. This is why I hate most of you. It was a legitimate thread and you guys derailed it faster than a new introduction/drunk fooflyer/spam/stupid newfag thread. I'm getting REALLY sick of this bullshit.

Fucking hell.

Maybe if there was an actual discussion beyond "the president's doing something on the internet guys' then I wouldn't derail it.

Besides, did you really expect an intelligent discussion outside of the Taboo Topics thread? On AZ? :colbert:

But I am sorry if you're mad if it means so much to you I'll stop derailing shit.

There really isn't much to discuss about this other than "uh huh" or "bad idea" or "cool".

No, but I did expect it to get past the first freaking page without being derailed.

That is an absolutely childish mentality. "I don't like this discussion, so I'm going to actively try to derail it"? Christ man, how old are you?

There is if you put some actual effort into thinking. Just because you are a teenager doesn't mean that you have to think and respond like one. If you truly do think that there is no further discussion beyond one or two words, then you think on a very shallow level. This is an opportunity to talk about how technology influences the way that we interact with politics in the twentieth century, or if you believe that this president is more or less technologically savvy than his predecessor, even discussing whether or not you think that one voice on the internet that is heard can make a difference. If you look at that story and all you think is "COOL STORY BRO", then fine, you're entitled to think that you want; I'm not going to stop you. But this isn't a matter of opinion, this is a matter of people taking somebody else's topic and turning it towards their own self-interest. You can say that I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, and that very well might be true, but what I'm angry about, above all else, is the severe ADD that this forum seems to have. Every new topic is derailed almost immediately, and it's about time this shit stopped. I'm sick of looking at new topics and only seeing dumb asinine banter that has NOTHING to do with the topic, or even worse, nothing but eighty different variations of "You're dumb", "This topic sucks", and "INB4LOCKLOL". You want to dissent, fine, but you don't need to follow the mob mentality and say the exact same thing thing that four other people have said already.

Good lord, it feels like the whole world's gone mad and I'm the only sane one left.

I think its a good idea in theory, but when 4chan or some other group of people looking for lulz get to Citizentube it will be full of, well whats apparently killing this forum.

There. Input.

Excuse me, your highness. I didn't realize this thread was your life and blood. Besides, I said I was fucking sorry, all right? Don't descend into namecalling.

I never said I didn't like the discussion. There just isn't much to discuss here. "Oh dorp dorp the president did something with a computer guys this is wonderful he's talking to people."

Like I said before, I'm sorry for derailing this stupid thread. Discuss whatever the hell you want, I'm not going to actively derail it because I don't like the topic.

You're missing the point, this isn't about this particular thread. It's about how legitimate threads get derailed so quickly on this forum. And I must point out that this rage wasn't directed at you, it was directed at everyone.

What's more, if you actually read his rant, he had provided several examples of how something like this could be actively discussed. Now If you have no comment on it then there's a simple solution:

Don't.

Fucking.

Post.

Otherwise you're posting gibberish while contributing nothing to the topic.

This is where you lost credibility entirely for me. There is a rule against this, because of this very reason. Maybe go off topic a little is fine, long as it goes back. But no, you just derailed it cause you thought it was hilarious and didn't like it. Don't ever do this. Period.

Thread locked since this is going nowhere fast.
