Pandora Radio

This is by far the greatest music-related invention ever.

For those of you who don't know, Pandora Radio is a website which allows you to create stations based on an artist or song that you type in. It plays not only songs by that artist, but also songs that share the same general musical themes as the ones that you put in.
You can either thumbs-up or thumbs-down any song that plays, which makes the stations become more and more tailor fit to suit your tastes.

It's probably also the best way possible to discover new bands.[/url]

Not at all.
Pandora doesn't track the songs you're playing from your iTunes or whatever.

Shame citizens of Canadialand or other non-U.S.A. countries can use it.

Naw, it's quite a bit better than last.fm in the aspect of actually finding new stuff. Last.fm really only searched via genres.

Pandora uses the music genome project... which basically means, a bunch of Academics got together and tried to in obscene detail, categorize music based on every possible trait they could think of.

Which is a really dorky way of saying "It doesn't try to find similar songs based on genre, it tries to find similar songs based on shit like what instruments it uses, and how the song is structured, the key, the type of singer, and other crap that only scholars and skilled-musicians worry about, but you don't really have to understand any of it."

The weird thing about it? It works.

It's neat, but yeah, like Merlin said, this is something crazy old @.@

This is when being a Canadian slaps you in the face with how it means you're in a non-U.S.A. country.

I didn't realize there were countries other than the USA.

Just pits of mud, despair, cannibalism and Ethiopian children.

If that were more accurate it would have the Middle East labeled "Bad Guys Here".
