Mantis shrimp are a pain in the booty. I used to work in an aquarium store and we'd get them sometimes when they in a piece of rock. If you don't keep them in a specially fortified tank, they can shatter the glass.

Some idiots would ignore advice to keep them in their own small system and come back a few weeks later to complain that the shrimp destroyed thousands of dollars worth of fish and equipment. Whoops.

Is lightning really made in the clouds, or is it just from jellyfish as they travel back in time with science?

I just thought I'd add to all the 'jokes' in this thread already. You know, to be 'cool'.

If everyone was jumping off a bridge, would you do it too?

There are some amazing animals out there though.

For real.

I like that insects can see ultraviolet radiation, some snakes can see in infrared, sharks have electrosensitivity, and also that cetaceans can use echolocation.

These are all senses that human beings do not have, so I find that pretty awesome.

It really can do that bubble thing, although I'm not entirely sure about the "hotter than the sun" thing.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if it really can do that.

See people, biology and animal research IS fun!
Hell, if that WERE possible, we'd all be dead. I think.

These shrimp are small dude. The bubbles are even smaller.

I doubt all that concentrated heat would be big enough to kill us all.

That's why it's a good thing they aren't as big as people. We'd be screwed then.
