Who makes 14-year-old kids write a 16-page journal

The longest thing I've ever written was a 10-page graduation essay about an author and two books three years ago. Most of the stuff I had to write in gymnasium was 3-4 pages max.

Even in university you won't have to write that much except for the grad paper.
