i don't think it's really that good for somebody to suddenly start drinking once they turn 18/21, because they're not used to it and it's effects. Instead I think it's better that before that age you have one or two light drinks, so you know your limits and whether you're responsible enough to drink and if you want to drink when you're older. Of course you shouldn't be drinking bottles of vodka at a young age, but I don't see anything wrong with a beer or two at a summer bbq or party. Just drink responsibly.

Month 3 of no drinking while being over 21. I confuse my friends and family.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
It took me some 8 months to drink anything after I turned 18

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
My family has let me drink for years now, but I don't. My dad always asks me if I want beer with dinner.

I generally just can't afford alcohol and am not all that interested in it, though I expect to get some as gifts on Saturday when I graduate.

I like drinking a beer mix or an easy to make cocktail from time to time.

I've actually drank plenty of times, never more than 1 serving (not that I plan to even outdo that when I go out), always with my family around. I usually get to drink for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter (depends though), and 4th of July. I'm not particularly interested in drinking, but it's nice to try new things.Syobon wrote:First time alcohol ey? I'd recommend getting a cocktail of sorts, since for most beer and wine is a bit of an acquired taste. You could try a sweeter beer if you want though, like Desperados (if you've got that over there) or a fruit beer .
So far I've had beer (hate it), wine (pretty good), champagne (It's either good or completely terrible) and some mixed drinks (some are better than others). My main issue is figuring out what to order in relation to the food, and what they offer.
Frankly, I don't much care to even order an alcoholic drink on my birthday, but it's a bit of a tradition in our family, so I'd like to be prepared just in case.

You know you've done too much 3D modelling when you start to see the polygons of real-life objects.

I thought that was implied.

I think I started drinking a little bit before I turned 16 or something.

Just got back from a pleasantly surprising call-in to work. Made $20 out of it, not counting the additional stuff that goes into my paycheck tomorrow.
