Around here when you see a guy wearing a wifebeater, he's usualy a douche.
But there's a 'look' that goes with it. So it's not the shirt itself, but the person wearing it.

Yeah, people who wear wifebeaters usually do so to show off the muscle on their arms, so are often douches. I'm pretty sure they were originally underwear too. I have some nice looking ones, but I rarely wear them as I'm fine with a T-shirt in the summer usually.
