What exactly is a "wife beater"? As an article of clothing, I mean, not an asshole husband.

Yeah that shirt. But it was just, awful. If he wears it tomorrow I'm going to take a picture so I can be a total asshole and laugh at him.

To be fair it's pretty douchey clothing, I guess.
Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
Huh? I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not particularly good-looking or classy but I don't see a problem.

It's just one of those things where you have to see it to agree with me.

Oh thanks! Good thing I asked, I would have pronounced it oss-ih-yayshun otherwise.BeatBoxingBoo wrote:Oss-ih-layshun (ih is like, in "him")Obnosim wrote:Hey native English speakers

Around here when you see a guy wearing a wifebeater, he's usualy a douche.Le Great Handsome Oppressor wrote:Around here, wifebeater = it's hot today lemme put on something light
But there's a 'look' that goes with it. So it's not the shirt itself, but the person wearing it.
Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
Yeah, people who wear wifebeaters usually do so to show off the muscle on their arms, so are often douches. I'm pretty sure they were originally underwear too. I have some nice looking ones, but I rarely wear them as I'm fine with a T-shirt in the summer usually.
