Also a realization:
Wouldn't it have been easier for typewriters to have the shift button where the spacebar is?
I could totes get used to trading the shift keys for the spacebar.

How is having two spaces going to make me type any faster as opposed to having my thumb always in the vicinity of a huge fucking button?

You could hold onto the shift(the huge button) while using any of the other fingers, and your fingers would be near two spaces. Anyway, it's not like it's going to happen.

Maybe it's because the 'right' way of typing annoys the heck out of me and I never used it outside of being required to in third grade computer class (Mavis Beacon, anyone?), I don't use my pinkies to type. My hand drifts over the whole keyboard and I type with my thumbs and the first two fingers on each hand.

But you don't need to hold onto it, you just need to press it while pressing one other button. If you need to type more use caps lock.

I added the extra challenge of not looking at the keyboard, which normally is not a problem for me
But I have small hands so I can't reach the T and Y keys when using both shifts apparently
And then some other crap happened I don't even know
