Cleverbot isn't really a bot, it's just a mechanism that puts two random people together and tells the people that they're talking to cleverbot.

Why else would you get so many non-sequiturs asking you what it's like being a robot. For something that scored higher than 50 on the Turing Test, cleverbot sure is dumb. I also asked it what it's like being a human, and someone responded that it's great, instead of "I am not a human".

I'm sorry if this is a joke and I am reacting unaccordingly to the content of your message.
Cleverbot uses what people say to him in situtations that it deems appropriate. It is basically a smart parrot. And when people ask it what it's like being a robot, it'll respond by doing the same more often.

Cleverbot learns from what people feed it like what FOR said. For example back when Jadusable was doing his BEN story, everyone who read it started talking about BEN and soon Cleverbot caught on to it for a bit.
