I'm sorry, but this is leaking from the "Things that piss you off" topic because I just need to rant right now.
Laptop doesn't turn on past the OS loading screen so i give it to the Help Desk to fix.
It comes back to me with a new hard drive, none of the old data to be found anywhere near it.
I rage, because it was easily recoverable, but move on because at least I have a laptop.
Three days later the problem comes back.
SO NOT ONLY DID I JUST LOSE ALL MY DATA DUE TO HELP DESK STUPIDITY, THERE WAS NO FUCKING REASON BEHIND IT SINCE THE PROBLEM STILL

FIXED
If I wasn't so angry right now I'd be sobbing in a corner.

I have a feeling they're going to try and charge me for the repairs this time, because they're happening so close to the other time this happened (three days ago) and hard drives aren't cheap (the fact that they don't need to be replacing it is irrelevant, they will do it anyway)Madican wrote:Your help desk is beyond stupid. A commercial space shuttle is going to launch at Cape Canaveral in about an hour, due to fly towards the ISS. This could be the start of something big if the mission is a success.
