I actually kind of style my RP threads after the Gaia tradition of "PM me a character profile and I'll add it to the OP, and once we have enough people we play out a story".
I think the main problem with RP threads is that they usually kind of stop partway through.
I don't think you should have much objection as long as you plan to finish the thing and get people that can relatively commit.
Also, let me know when you're excepting characters.
I loves makin' characters.
bolded is what I'm responding too. Evernia/War of the Elements started a year ago, and is still going on over skype, albeit with a lot of changes. But it's still around.
I'm actually pretty interested in doing this, actually, sol
Rediscovered Pandora Radio. Now that my musical taste expands beyond a few novelty bands, this is pretty good, don't know why I judged it poorly before.
Go halvesies with somebody on one of the starter kits, probably the cheapest way to get started
It won't be hard to find somewhere else online to buy it though, there's a billion stores selling games workshop products for half the price out there.
You can actually get most sets on Amazon for 6-9 bucks cheaper than GW sells them, and that's sometimes even with shipping included. Plus, in my experience I get stuff maybe 4 days after I order them , max (unless it was on/before the weekend).
I'll probably be getting some at the local shop. He offers discounts for when you get started.
A couple of my friends got a bunch of startup stuff from him a few weeks ago. I'm thinking of getting some Necrons but I've been told they're not that good?
Been getting into Necrons myself recently. They've got more or less the same stat line as Space Marines, except they've nearly all got 1 initiative. They're better at shooting than close combat for the most part, but they're not nearly as much of a push over as Tau when it comes to mele.
Bunch of cool new models, and a whole lot of options for force organisation. Pretty good pick to start off with, really. Further reading, if so inclined.
