Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
I didn't like Tumblr because a lot of the people who I initially watched for their art gradually deteriorated into posting stuff that wasn't art - and I also don't like my inbox being bombarded by the stuff that these people feel is worth reblogging and/or commenting on.
I generally found it hard to follow what was going on in my inbox on Tumblr and in the end I just ignored everything that came into it because of that - and eventually lost interest in it altogether.
I personally think Tumblr is more for blogging because of all that.
I'm going to be using my own website as my mainstay eventually - not only will I have a comics archive but also a character design archive and a general art archive (I just haven't figured out how I'm going to organise the latter two components).

Yeah, DA is most likely the better choice for art than Tumblr.
Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.

Also I need to create some kind of forum for my website.
It might just be because of the way Katie has organised this site - but I think it's better for people to comment on the comics in a forum rather than having a chain of comments on the main site's comic page. Agreed?
I'll probably need to find out how to disable the function that allows people to comment on the comic's main page though (my CSS is already set up like that).

I don't think it's a bad idea for Riku to post her art there though.BurntToShreds wrote:Yeah, DA is most likely the better choice for art than Tumblr.
I kind of felt that Tumblr expected me to become deeply involved with the rest of the Tumblr community in a kind of Facebook social networking fashion (I guess) - and that personally wasn't what I wanted out of the site.
You can either just post your art there and ignore the community at large, or you can post your art and get involved with the community - but the issue with the latter is that you end up reblogging other people's stuff and you fill your followers' inboxes up with stuff they didn't sign up for - which means they might get rustled at you? Idk.
It just seems a bad setup to me (having come over to Tumblr from dA and FA).

There are people who seperate their art tumblrs and their reblog tumblrs, altough I guess it's not the majority doing so.
I know that eventually I'm going to do a seperate tumblr for one of my stories, so I have everything relating to that nicely fit in one tumblr instead of floating around here and there.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
I created a link to posts containing only my art within one blog. I personally don't see much point in creating multiple blogs.
That said, I have been bothered by the sheer amount of content I don't particularly care about from people I follow. Good gravy these people are the ones who post the most too.

I usually only reblog things which I find incredible (and the occassional gift art I guess), for example "why is there a 'D' in 'fridge', but not in 'refrigerator' ", or the He-Man cosplayer (as currently seen as my avatar)

And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed,
Just to get it all out what's in my head,
And I'm, I am feeling a little peculiar...

So I wake up in the morning and I step outside
And take a deep breath and get real high
And I scream at the top of my lungs, what's goin' on?

I just picked up the first good Skeletor picture I could find.
You could find better.
