This is a great idea and it needs to be endorsed wholly.

I set one up anyway. Pretty much all it's going to be is comic pages/related art anyway. I'm not going to say much on it.

Sorry I did not answer your question earlier! I like having both a Tumblr and a deviantArt because they seem to compliment each other with their strengths and faults. It's easy to share your art through Tumblr, and the reblogging system allows great exposure - but the commenting system is needlessly excessive (if you want to respond to someone you typically have to reblog). Meanwhile deviantArt's easy commenting system is good for opinions and critiques, and allows you to create an easy dialogue with someone.

Another thing I like about Tumblr is you can avoid the "views" crap on dA. You can argue the "like/reblog" system is similar, but I don't find it as distracting. Also there are some pretty great Tumblrs you can follow for art or reference photos and I've found a lot of neat images and inspiration that way.

The main problem that I'm running into is that Tumblr seems to shrink the images a bit, which can make the text hard to see.

you could set the click-through links to the full-size images on your DA or something

I find people on Tumblr to not really care where the art came from. While sure, you may gain exposure through likes and reblogs, I find that in most cases people don't care who the art is by or where they can read more so long as it looks good on their own blogs.

Kinda like reddit or facebook. An original concept is in short supply.

At least with DA the premise of the site is to share your OWN art. Even though it's pretty well full of art thieves and kids who think it's grey facebook.

As far as I know, there is an option you can check so the pictures appear in full size when you click on them/the small option under them called 'High-Res'

The more research we do, the more it seems like the only behavior consistently considered normal is the tendency to be way too strict about what normal behavior actually is -- and then being really shitty to the people who don't conform.

Views are distracting? :psyduck:

I don't notice mine at all.

Ah, thank you Tatzel and Cafall. I couldn't find the high-res button, so I just did the click through links.

Ah.

I don't see much of that on DA regarding views.
Then again, I don't go too deep.

The people I follow are usually very well-mannered.

Actually it's more like a general truth. Where there is a system of "likes", there will be people who use them as a measure of epeen.
