A friend of mine has that mouse. When I saw it in a magazine I wondered how the fuck anyone would use it.

Then I actually put my hand in it. daisies, that thing is comfortable.

Probably not going to retain any of it though if you don't get rest.

Most of it is building on stuff that I already know and it's more perspective based, stuff that I can't really forget after seeing it. I'm drawing while following a tutorial, so it's more of an experience thing than techniques. I def need sleep though.

My head gets cold really easily these days.

I wear a hat or hoodie indoors almost all the time lately.

Also I thought a bit more about some original MLP characters I have floating around in my head so I'm probably gonna try and draw them up.

I might try and do some short stories with them to get into the swing of doing comics again... Idk.

I say a lot of things like this and they end up not coming to pass.

I've been seriously thinking about getting a snake recently. I've always been interested in them ever since I was little, but my mom (naturally) would never allow it. Now that I live with my dad and am more mature about my responsibilities, I feel like I'm ready. I know that it's a possible 20+ year responsibility, and I have no problem handling dead fuzzy rodents.

The problem here is juggling around all this information. "Don't feed it until its first shed." "The living space should be x percent of their body wide and x percent deep." "Use this light fixture to diffuse the heat all the way down the tank." Use this heating fixture to disperse the heat evenly." "Feed them once every two weeks." "No, feed them once a week." "No, I feed mine two mice every three weeks!"

It gets really confusing and intimidating. ._.

What sort of snake are you interested in?

My sister has a rosy boa that's grown from one to three feet while we've owned it, and we've just kept it in a biggish aquarium its whole life.

I was interested in getting a Banana Kingsnake for a while, but I think I've settled on an Okeetee Corn snake.

I'm trying not to get something generic like a Ball python or California Kingsnake. I'm not too fond of their patterns and there are so many more flattering-looking snakes.

If you were to buy one it would probably be after its first shed anyway - my snake was seven months old when I got her so would've shed a few times already.

Find a pet store that specialises in reptiles and ask them any questions you might have - I've been keeping for almost a year and I still talk to the shop owners for about a quarter hour every time I go in there. The pet store will also have a set of vivariums you can take a look at - I wouldn't worry too much about exact dimensions, but you will need a heat source, thermostat, thermometer, shelter and water bowl.

Also get a book that covers the basics.

You may not want to get a royal/ball python though - my royal (Penelope) has gone off her food lately (as royals can do) and even though she's perfectly healthy I worry about her not eating atm.

Corn/rat snakes will eat regardless though and are generally hardy so that might be a good choice to start out with.

That's one of my problems. I live in a semi-rural area without any pet stores except for a small handful of PetsMarts and other generic big-chain pet stores. Back home in South Florida we had the best reptile shop that I'd beg my mom to take me to every week. No such thing here.

But there is a reptile convention that's coming to town in March. I might find some answers there, and maybe a snake too.

It's unfortunate you don't have a pet shop or reptile specialist nearby.

You could always look for a reptile forum online to help answer any questions you will inevitably have once you own a snake (it's reassuring to know you have somebody to talk to who has some experience).

Also remember to get a guard if you're going to use a heat lamp as a heat source - snakes can coil around these and badly burn themselves if a guard isn't present.

This can also happen with heat mats but different reptile owners have different opinions about which is safer (I've been using a heat lamp with a guard and my snake has been fine).
