I ordered a Red Box for the campaign. Comes with a few supplies so this won't be a completely duct-tape and magic marker affair. I would like to find a few miniatures because tokens are just for children, but goddamn these things are expensive. I'm getting advice from friends/former DMs to help me figure out a decent beginning adventure. I think I'm going to cram in as many cliches as I can.

You're really going all-out for this, aren't you?

My friends and I just print off character sheets and draw maps.
That's the extent of our preparation.

Well I need the books. And dice. The box comes with a book for players, a book for DMs, a set of dice, sheets, tokens, and some basic maps. It's only $20, so I feel okay about it.
