Well, you have to keep in mind that it's not only the song, but also the stage performance which counts. And those two are really 'outstanding' and in-your-face, so it's not really surprising that they catch a lot of attention.

I was surprised when Iceland got into the finals in ESC.

Me too; but when I see them getting into the next round, I thought "Hey I bet Valbrandur is going to be pop flyin' about that".

Well, you're right!

The lyrics were different in Icelandic originally though. They changed it a bit for the competition. I personally think the Icelandic lyrics are much more meaningful.

I'm not sure how they will do in the finals but I certainly hope they get at least in the top 15.

I'm seriously disappointed that Norway didn't get into the finals, I liked that song so much.

Hah, listened to the radio on the way to school. One of our most famous singers, Pall Oskar (add symbols to a and O), stuffed his face with cake, bodaciously. He said that Iceland wouldn't pass to the finals in Eurovision and he'd eat his hat if they did. His sister apparently rung him after the competition and baked him a cake in the form of a hat I guess?

Also, our band is apparently very cool about this competition. They don't care if they win or not as long as they get to play. It's a refreshing attitude.
