I love it when you see someone spell "definitely" "defiantly" because you know they just use spell check.

First semi-finals of the ESC yesterday
Germany what are you doing, stop making a boring show
Why do you choose moderators who are good improvising, but then give them scripted jokes
Also a super boring news moderator
And then the votes
Seriously?
No Norway, Armenia or Croatia? Seriously?
Greece? Seriously?
Atleast Portugal didn't get further, I would've stopped watching right fucking there.
But no Norway? I still don't get it. Best fucking song, but nope.
I hope that the second semi-finals will be better, because yesterday was... really underwhelming.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
ESC is short for Eurovision Song Contest, it's a pretty big thing here.
Many countries participate in this event, and they have a participant which was elected by the countries month previously. You could say that it's basically like American Idol, just on a much much larger scale.
Since so many countries are participating by now, it's split into two semi-finals. Ten of each semi-finals get into the finals, they get voted 50% by public votes and 50% by a jury.
Finals are public votes only, and the country/singer which got the most points wins, and in the next year the winning country is hosting the next ESC. Since Germany won last year, we're the hosters now.
I stopped watching until last year, because we had a retarded guy handling our participants, and we always scored very very low. If Germany wasn't one of the 'big five' (5 countries which are automatically in the finals, no matter what), we never would've gotten into the finals in the first place, because our representants were just horrible. But then we got someone else, and look, we won again! And we seem to be one of the favorites this year too, so it became fun watching again.

Germany always does better than Britain - which I'm guessing will score in the bottom three again this year.
I've not even heard our entry yet, which must be a reflection of how hard it sucks.

Personal opinion? I only got to hear the previews of the songs of the big five, but England is oh so much better then Italy. Like, seriously.
More personal opinions? I hope France wins, or atleast it definetely will have my vote
Just listen to this voice and gaze upon the face of an angel
This guy
This guy right there
Usually I don't care about the looks of people, but holy shit
This is fucking pro-dazzling right there. When he'll perform on stage, everyone will go blind by the sheer dazzleness.
I mean, come on

His hair alone should secure points from all countries.
I also listened to Britain's entry in the suggested videos; It's so terribly plain and disinteresting.
Nil points.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
Russia made me snrk yesterday.
Last year, they had those MANLY MEN performing - and they had a ballad.
And this year they send in a fabolous boygroup? I just couldn't hold my laughter there. But apparently it worked, since they got into the finals (altough their entry wasn't that great either).

I don't watch the show and know next to nothing about the current entries or anything, but apparently Ireland has/had Jedward for some weird reason. I... just don't see the appeal behind those two at all.

Yeah, Jedward's entry is kinda sucky too.
Bring back Lordi is all I can say.
They were the best ever.
