Hold up, new members start with over 2000 posts? I DID NOT HAVE THIS ADVANTAGE WHEN I SIGNED ON.

I'm really interested in playing D&D but I don't have a group to play with.

Congrats on your 9999th post.

BTW, how do you change your name here, anyway? This and Wikia are pretty much the only places where I still go by Sir Real.

I'm part of a group that is considering to play D&D in the future, January - February will be the discussion time. Hoping it does so Exeres can nerd out and teach me everything.

Also, hopefully to avoid the trickiest DM traps

Do it quick before the forum tools that allow them to do so fall apart as well and you end up named Ralph.

Yeah as long as its nothing dumbshit or offensive you can just bother us for like, name changes or titles or whatever (at least me anyway). Just dont ask us to purge your posts whatever since that breaks the forum for weeks.

i have studied at the feet of gods

The DM playbook is a closely guarded secret, but rule zero of the whole thing is "don't be afraid to make shit up on the spot and act like you planned it all beforehand" so really there's nothing I can tell you on that front.

Shit, you should see half the stuff I get away with.

This is a lie. All GMs plan for every contingency and any GM that doesn't is actually a dangerous mindless slime that needs to be slain.

I finally found a DnD group last year (well, Pathfinder actually). It's been fun but it's hard to do regular sessions with every one being so busy.

Playing DND when you're an adult is like:

DM: "Is everyone free on Saturday?"

"I'm free all week : ) "

"I have to work on Saturday, what about Wednesday?"

"I work on Wednesday"

"I'm free on Tuesday and Friday"

"I'm free on Monday and Sunday"

DM: ".............what about Thursday?"

"Thursday I'm out of town."

DM: "......guess we'll try next week then."

It's made even worse when you're playing it online with people who live in different time zones.

This is why people shouldn't be adults.
