See, when you're just kind of mentioning how someone else jokes around about you being nuts, then it's not so bad. And the cocoapuffs thing is funny, I/OThe Idiotic Oracle wrote:my dad describes me as Coo-coo for Cocoapuffs.RikuKyuutu wrote:People who seriously try to describe themselves as insane, excessively awesome, or "metaphoric"<--whatever the hell Momo even meant by that.
It's fun when you're 8.
Not so much at age 18

Haha, you just reminded me.
I used to watch this girl on dA... and you can probably guess how things went when she introduced herself as being "a satanistic, vegetarian, lesbian - yeah, all the shit your parents warned you about
so bad booty" individual.
She uploaded stuff constantly so I never really got to comment on her stuff much. I guess I should learn my lesson that on dA criticism is never appreciated because one day I told her she drew an arm to long and, when she was replying to me, acted like her usual "I'm too stylized for anatomy, bitch" self. But then later she sicked her girlfriend on me who lost her mind when I said "Uh your girlfriend is not above criticism. Nobody is."
They suddenly disappeared and now they're apparently pretending to be guys. Not that they've actually struggled with the concepts of gender or that they actually want to be guys.
They just decided to add something else to their resume of "bad booty qualities i have
".
Raeg.
Oh, and she brags about how she steals medical supplies from the hospital.
RAEG.

It's people like that that will eventually ruin art as a whole. Eventually, someone, somewhere will sue someone for giving them criticism on an art piece. That will be the day art dies. Not with a censor, but a lawsuit.

It wouldn't surprise me if people have already tried.Xeraphem wrote:It's people like that that will eventually ruin art as a whole. Eventually, someone, somewhere will sue someone for giving them criticism on an art piece. That will be the day art dies. Not with a censor, but a lawsuit.
There's Jesskitt, who tried to claim the administrators of FA were "trying to copyright natural poses and actions from nature" when they told her her art was copyright infringing, and when faced with several overlays of... almost all her artwork over photographs where the lines matched up too perfectly to be coincidence, she was banned and asked a lawyering website if she could sue the website for banning her for her copyright infringement.

I wonder what devil's advocate would actually taker her case?

It's people like that, not just artists, that really get under my skin.
That annoying need to prove how RIGHT they are when they were justifiably punished for something they did and that want to prove how innocent they are for said crime really shows how ignorant they are about themselves.

There's not enough facepalm on this world to make up for this.Miss StarSeed wrote:she was banned and asked a lawyering website if she could sue the website for banning her for her copyright infringement.
Also, people going nuts when you critize them. I hate this. So much. Probably the reason why I stopped beeing on a german website similiar to DA but with manga/anime only themed, and never made a DA account. Seriously, if you wrote there something else then how much you like it, or this kawaii desu ne shittalk with 50 million smilies, you either got uncountable hate PMs (depending on how many were watching the artist) or people were going over to your gallery and gave most pictures of you the worst rating possible.
On a lowered base, I also hate it when people only say "I don't like it" or "this looks like shit" or whatnot, is it so hard to say what you don't like or maybe give some advice how you could've made it better?

Which is why i really should get back to frequenting Concept art more.
That place is based around promoting your art but also getting it critiqued by professionals.
I'll admit, when DA butthurts go over there expecting praise like on Deviantart but get the opposite of it with lots of critiquing, it's funny to see they're reactions.

I don't think I can actually count the amount of times where I was told to "get talent," and things to the effect. Being a kid with the self-esteem the equivalent of a dead ant, I really was affected by that kind of crap back in the day, and even now I just lack the will to draw anymore. I'm not going to say "boo-freakity-hoo, they ruined my life forever! Bad people on the internet!" But because of all the hate mail and lack of criticism, I've just wound up too passive.

@Yani
Well that sounded pretty good and went over there and had a look... I won't subcribe there, I looked at some profiles, and the stuff they have up is just too good that I could fit in there
@Xeraphem
It was annoying, but I didn't stop drawing, and I had aswell the self-esteem of a dead ant. I just loved drawing too much. I stopped drawing for a very long time actually only because of school, the latest classes just drained too much time. Also, since I had no one to show my art I didn't really care creating new stuff. And my parents still hate me that I want to become a manga artist.
