Last year, after getting two ragdoll kittens, my mother was diagnosed with Asthma. On top of that, it was recently discovered that the reason her asthma was getting worse was because it was being further exacerbated by the fact that she was allergic to cats. This was a total surprise, as we had about 11 cats in out house at one point and she did not suffer for it.
Anyways, 2 days ago, after delibration and crying and phonecalls with the breeder, we moved the cats onto a new home. My mother feels really guilty about it, I feel like crap (I really loved the male cat, Rufus), and her partner is crying constantly.
I know that she'll now start feeling better, and that the cats are actually in a better home (we have dogs, and a bad backgarden for cats), but it still sucks. Massively. I'm just holding onto the fact that none of the dogs had to go, I don't know if ANY of us could have handled that...

Ha, That happened a while back out here. I know exactly what you're talking about.Stranaton wrote:reminds me when a transformer blew in our backyard. It shook the whole daisies house, and when I went out there, there was gasoline flames about ten feet high. and the windows were shattered all over the lawn.

Oh, yeah. When my mom wasn't flipping out and crying like a little girl, she was praying "Thank you God for protecting my child".
Meanwhile, I'm running around and watering everything down, pulling shit away from the fire, moving other vehicles and all that jazz, and after I had everything watered down, I left the hoses running into a little ditch around our house that's on the edge of the driveway to set up a little mote of non-flammable stuff. Then I had to go find the fire extinguisher and put out the bales of straw that had caught fire (I don't even know why my stepdad had those there). When I was moving one of them that didn't look like it had burned, I lifted it up and then it suddenly blazed, probably from things shifting and the smoldering parts suddenly getting oxygen.
But yeah. I was busy making sure that nothing else caught fire, relatively calm, considering the situation, and my mom was just sitting there bawling.
