We get school IDs but we only ever use them for dances. And even then all we need is photo ID, so a permit or a license will work too.

We pay for lunches with a key code that's given to us at the beginning of the year.

So our IDs are really pointless. I don't see why they're still giving them out; it's just using more cheddar.

My campus uses them as prepaid cards, as well as cardkey's for dorms and classrooms. It's cool because you just hold the card up to the scanner by the doorknob, so you can leave it in your wallet.

I have only needed IDs during college.

We had to show IDs (driver's license and stuff like that) during final tests but nothing else than that.

Yeah we don't do that. The IDs are basically laminated pieces of paper with our name and picture, but they are EXPENSIVE because the school hires a company to make 'em. There's no magnetic strip or anything.

Then again this is a high school I'm talking about so everything is pretty useless.

We had IDs in Sixth Form, but that was just for the other school (our school partnered up with another one for whatever reason so lessons and students were split between the two), since they had a fancy proper Sixth Form block with expensive equipment and whatnot, so it was mainly a way of keeping people out.

As a stark contrast, my school didn't even have a Sixth Form block. There was a common room, but it was essentially a giant shed. :B

My school has an ID thing. But really it serves no purpose. Its really just a thing to say " LOL I GO HERE :E" We also have key codes for lunch, which i find a pretty good idea. But really there is no purpose for those little ID cards.

Also FUUUUU- I have pictures tomorrow. I swear to god if my hair curls over again in some retarded way, I will be piiised.

our school is obsessive about ids
if you don't have it around your neck AT ALL TIMES you can get in trouble
we use it for places we'd normally have to type in our id numbers, like buying lunch and libraries
not much else, though

and to be honest the only reason i was even pulled on her id was because she kept smacking me gently on the leg. |:

We were supposed to wear ours at all times, but I was only at that particular school for one lesson so I never bothered. I also covered up my picture with a retarded doodle because I looked stupid in the photo. The only thing I really needed it for was for the minibus service between sites, because my school felt compelled to partner up with a school about half an hour away. >_>

My High School always said they would give you a detention or something for not wearing it. And about only 3-4 out of 4,000 students wore them, so they gave up rather quickly.

I used my School ID for a bookmark.
But then I got some other bookmarks.

I'm sure it's around the house somewhere.
