I got this USB WIFI adapter thing I can't get it to wooooorrrrk

As far as i can tell I've set it to WEP, and my DS can find it it, but I don't know what the key is or how to change it and arfggfjfjgfhkjuliupoyfj

I might be changing the key but i'm not sure and it still doesn't connect.
