Just because it isn't anybody's business but the personally involved parties, that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a word for it.
It's primarily used as a derogatory term to demean women, so it's just as bigoted as a racist slang word.

I have to agree., honestly. Defending woman who are sluts is just backwards in my books. It's a negative term/insult, and no amount of denial is going to change that.

This, for added measure. Sticking up for sluts seems rather insulting to women in general.

No, no, you completely missed my point. The word dehumanizes women as a whole.

This whole thing... this is what pisses me off. You know what? Slut's a bad word. Sure, someone can have multiple partners and it's their business. However, have you ever considered that most alleged sluts don't give two shits who is in a relationship or not? This goes for both genders, mind you.
There isn't a word terrible enough for "people" like that.
I know people who go around actively trying to break people apart, have sex with them, and essentially view them as trophies. Of course there are always variations of this, but that doesn't change anything.
That is not fucking okay.

I think I have an idea of what Bacon is trying to defend here.
People shouldn't be labeling a woman as a slut just because she chooses to wear something a bit revealing like a miniskirt maybe just because she feels really good about herself one day. Not because she wants to pull in as much attention as possible or create a stir.
There's plenty of girls like that but not all of them are.
And because a woman has some one night stands or has an open relationship, if kept between themselves and it's consensual, it's not a big deal either.
idk this discussion it kinda confusing me.

This argument makes people mad. This is a thread about being mad. Not really off-topic.
Unless you want to talk about minites themselves.
I am being childish. I don't care. It feels good.
