First solo build happened, and I was right. I didn't know exactly what would screw me over but I was certain that some task or other would be beyond my first time capabilities. It was a simple design for a small countertop, I took it slow, and it still only needed about two minutes worth of overworking in the wrong place for me to screw it up entirely and have to start over from scratch. It was kind of a depressing day.

From now on, if I get any order that has an item I can't find within a few minutes (like when it isn't where it's supposed to be, or not in the correct overhead bay), I'm not wasting time searching the entire store again.

The Non-for profit got fucked up again. A lady who is known for getting town annual festivals has come in to help. The owner of our group took it as a threat and found us a new location, which fucked over our old landlord (Who wasn't even charging us rent) and us. The city is now all on board with the new location because it's an old Park building. So now we have the support of the city but now we have to pay them at the end of the year and we have to move Fucking Everything from the 2nd floor of the warehouse to a location across town.

I started my new job today. I work at a coffee shop/ confectionary
And you know what? For only having slept two hours, and drinking a buttload of free coffee (which is an employee park omg) I feel fantastic. I'm just ready for a shower (or maybe a bath) and some sleep. Sure I cracked my phone screen a bit, but it still works!
Plus my new coworkers were super helpful. I'm still a little shaku making drinks, but apparently my first espresso pour was perfect. 10/10 local businesses.

So while I was cleaning up and sweeping the floors, I went to the back door and saw hundreds of little flies clumped up on it, they were getting in from underneath and I noticed them on the walls and flying near the ceiling light. I was terrified and immediately got to work on spraying them, minutes later more arrive when my workmate needs help and an OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD TRAIN TOOTS ITS HORNS EVERY FEW SECONDS
Fun, apparently my boss says this happens every year, so I have something to look forward to.
it's true though

I don't know how my (religious) boss always manages to walk through the warehouse while I'm blasting Slayer. He laughed and asked how I could listen to that stuff and my mind immediately filtered out a few "fire me" responses:
1) I sold my soul to Satan so He could allow me to understand these black verses.
2) Come back in a few minutes when the "religion is rape" song is playing.
3) These guys really get me.
Ultimately, I just told him it soothes me.

I don't know why, but one of the assistant managers has been giving me shit ever since she transferred to this store.
She's jumped my booty over giving a customer a markdown to SAVE A FUCKING SALE FOR SOMETHING I CAN'T AFFORD, she's acted like I never do anything, even though every other assistant manager, and even the general manager acknowledged that I'm always working my booty off, and today she jumped my booty for doing something my supervisor told me to do: leave early friday so I can be here before opening to send out the deliveries because nobody else had available hours.
Thankfully I was able to explain this situation to her without shouting, that it's being handled, I was TOLD to do it by my supervisor, and that the other ASMs know about it and are OKAY with it.

Guh I'm scheduled to work 7 days in a row. Not looking forward to it... at all
I wonder if I could ask for a day off in between, I just don't want to come across sounding whiny or entitled.
...Maybe I'll just deal with it and buy myself something nice with the cheddar i'd make. Or sleep all day when I'm finally done.

We got slammed today really really bad.
Every single order was huge I'm talking around 30 dollars of food for most customers. And this went on for like 3 hours. It set us so far back I had to keep 2 employees 2 hours late to catch up.
I am so lucky they were willing to do it. I love my crew, really. They're such a great bunch of people.
Edit: And to finish off the day this dude came through the drive thru smoking some sort of pill. He had children in his backseat and we called the cops on him

Smoking a pill? Da fuck?
Last night, I spent more than three hours pulling a delivery that went out this morning. The order was placed after the cut off for a next day delivery, which is 3 pm. I had to pull 44 2x4 (16ft.), 22 2x4 (8ft.), 2 4x4 (10ft), 10 2x4 (10ft.), and 42 4x4 (8ft.). By hand, without help. Oh, and they were all pressure treated, so they weighed a little more than usual when dry. And most were pretty damp. I was also getting interrupted by customers in the lumber department because the lumber associates were doing their best to stay out of their department.
I didn't have time to pull the 630 fence pickets on the order, and someone still complained that I didn't do enough. Even though I banded everything I pulled, and pushed it to the staging area.
Ungrateful pricks.
ranting is funnn... not really.

So, my first training day with my haunt was today! It was super fun! I'm not in my same haunted house as last year though. I'm outside it, on the pathway. Which, actually gives me lots of freedom to run around and do whatever I want. Makes me really miss my friends back in the ICU though. ;w;
Anyway, I have to rant about this chick I work with. She seems kind of like a diva, but I'm trying really hard to be zen and not worry too much on what she has to say and how she acts, because maybe that's just how she is and doesn't realize that she's kind of rude. Other times she's really helpful and takes charge well.
I just didn't like that she was rude to our stage managers and one of the heads of whole Halloween event and the entertainment department and said "Well, I only know my character's name, Delusional Denise. Other than that, I didn't get a picture of my costume, I didn't get a description for my character, and I didn't get any description on this path at all on my sheet, so I don't know what to do." Everyone else in our group made up our stories on the spot, using only our character names. We all had the same blank sheets with only our character names.
The entertainment department head even tried helping to form her character and said "Well, Delusional Denise has escaped from the ICU. What do you think about that?" And she was just like "I don't know." It annoyed me so much. She had absolutely nothing, and no ideas, and was very vocal on how much she wished she wasn't outside on a pathway, and how she deserved to actually be in the newest haunted house this year.
She was even bad mouthing one of our stage managers when they walked away, all because she was insulted and upset that the stage manager interrupted her abruptly and said "can I talk?" because she kept getting interrupted herself by that one particular person. I think that they heard her talking smack though, because they were walking up right behind her to tell us to get into places when she was in the middle of her stupid rant.
Other than that one person, I think I will get along well with all the other people I have to work with, and it will be a very fun job.
