It was a bitch to do, because two of the frogs were midbosses in dungeons.

Yeah, you have to travel all over the fucking place just to gather them at the waterfall near the goron village. And it has to be spring there for it to work, if I remember correctly. So basically you have to kill that boss (Goht), and then like Water said, two mini-bosses as well because the frogs ARE the mini-bosses and they don't change back to normal until after they're defeated. And the only reward you get is a heart piece. I always left that side quest till the end of the game because it was such a pain in the booty.
Oh, and if you didn't get the frog mask, you have to feed the goron stuck on top of the waterfall some meat, which I also found annoying. I hate those friggin spinning pots.
