I thought everything they made was mostly stolen from that junkyard they hanged out in in a few episodes.

I thought that's what they did too. But that junkyard is only so big. Not to mention if they did use junkyard pieces, there would have to be a lot of decontamination before they could use them.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking love the show. But I saw that and I couldn't help but laugh.

but sometimes people just want to know what happened, and not even comment on it. It's when people say "oh god don't bring that up again" when someone's being curious that they then make a comment about it

I don't see anything wrong with asking, long as it doesn't go out of control and turn into the argument mentioned again.
