I find MSN better than AIM and Yahoo in a lot of ways.

Sure, I haven't used Yahoo, but I still think MSN is better. :/

MSN I never bother with, AIM is terrible, Yahoo I never use, and I prefer Skype/Xfire.

Eh, I used to use Trillian. Never again, just a clusterfuck of all the IM things. Never could get it to work right. I use Skype because most of the people I talk to use it and Xfire is for when I'm on Unreal because the voice chat in it annoys me.

not so. you see, the colon puts the emphasis on the word publish. Without the colon, your logic would be completely right. however, with the colon, the reader is shown by the phrase "one word" and the use of the colon after the phrase, that the one word they should be paying attention to is "publish" and not the two preceding words.
