WIP of a thing I volunteered to make for the Looking Glass fan site. I'm planning on fixing the head, left hand, and right arm once I finish shading because this notebook doesn't erase very well and winds up smudging things to hell. I'm also gonna go in with a white gel pen later to lighten some areas like the jewelry and his eye.
Comments and critique appeciated.

It seems to me that the area between his belt and the beginning of the legs in too short. It looks like he has no pelvis. The torso and legs look fine to me tough, so it's not that the belt is too low or too high.

Thanks for pointing that out! I did notice it seemed odd, but I didn't think to go back and fix it until you mentioned that.
I think I'm close to calling this finished, too. Does anything else look weird? I'm considering altering the texture on the tops of his boots, but other than that I can't see anything really glaring.

I fixed it now. I went back in and edited a couple more things anyway, like the thumb and legs.

aaaaah cori that's baller as heckie.
okay, so!
I've been throwing around this idea for a comic, called "Sidequests" (title courtesy of mama riku)
This lad named Loxlen wants to be a hero, like in the stories he was raised on, thing is, he doesn't really know how to do that, so he ends up running around doing menial chores and errands for the people of his village (thus the title), and eventually bumps into Siffy, a magical doorkeeper to the "hero's treasure", but upon learning that neither the treasure, door, or building are there anymore, she teams up with Lox to "help" him become a hero. Together, the two go on adventures and end up in all kinds of situations, usually starting with an errand gone wrong.
It would be an adventure/comedy, with maybe a few bits that get kinda serious? but mostly going for an upbeat feeling to it.

That's a cute idea. Actually, it reminds me a little bit of Nondrick's Non-adventure, which I thought was pretty funny.
The Siffy character reminds me a little too much like Midna though--ponytail, pointy ears, smirk, body type, and floatiness. The designs seem a little bit bland, too; a little bit of extra detail might spice them up nicely. The kid looks like he's wearing jeans and tennis shoes to me (partly becausebecause I associate those simplified lines and shapes with modern day clothing).

For the first time in about a year of four I tried my hand at line-art and more-or-less cellshading again, by using it to draw an RP character. I am actually relatively pop flyin' with the line-art, even though it is a bit messy overall, but I really need to work on the shading :c
I have to say, there is a LOT of amazing art in this thread! Definitely going to lurk here a lot.

Nice work, Virtuxa. The character's ear seems a little bit small, but I like your linework on the hair.

Either the right eye is too big, or the left too small.

My favorite drawing is the grumpy ostrich. It's beautiful.
