Decided to post a WIP of the picture I'm drawing for roomie. I know it's very stylized, but I still can't help and feel that the shading is poop. Maybe I'm just really discouraged about this picture because I'm drawing on this since forever and I'm still not finished.

in all truth i tell you

p.s. creative writing is art right?
i find it hard to write anything
Would you write if you went into an art class?
I think I would maybe. Writing is difficult though because it's hard to criticise yourself since the whole literary system is incredibly vague and subjective. It is easy to see what makes a picture look good: effective use of colours, anatomy, shading, all that good stuff. I might be wrong, though. It's hard to know.
If you're interested, I wrote this up last night http://pastebin.com/Jm4UDXty

Please keep in mind that Dan is kind of being a dick and that plenty of other people have posted writing in this thread, along with music, another thing you wouldn't necessarily do in an "art class."
Since this is garbled English, please refer to the brutal attack of confusion.

Sweet Jesus tits, Tatzel. In what dimension is that shading bad? I think that is a badass looking monster.

Ah no, it's not bad-bad, it just feels like it isn't entirely correct. Mostly because the shading wasn't too easy, and as I said I'm just working on this thing since forever (and the file is as huge as 3000x3000) and after spending so much time on a single piece your vision just becomes skewed. I'm glad you think it looks good though (PS it's my own version of Diablo from the same titled games).

I've done more on Cutters here but I'm not fully satisfied with some features, like the background (needs to look less flat and boring) and I forgot about a couple of things (well, I can't really do the gloves due to the angle they're at hiding the grip surfaces anyway) and I have a nasty feeling the picture is too illuminated, so I'll try sorting that out. The magenta light is ment to be the main source of light here soooo...yeah. Too bright. I do like the magenta lighting though, it makes it look more 3D~

I drew this at school a few months back and didn't get a chance to scan it.

It's not me, I found this photo in a magazine during art class.( We were making baskets out of magazines when I started reading some Nat Geo stuff.)

And because I did:
