Re: Art Thread
I'm jealous of how much you've improved.
Test materials: 1 x D-class personnel, 1 x wooden desk.

Re: Art Thread
I got bored again

I wish Gimp had PS-like bevel effects. The lighter part took way too much time to make. But at least that way I can try more things instead of just applying an effect.

You should do the red AZ logo so we can have an updated forum icon.

Ok then. A few principles to consider about water. Firstly, it is for the most part, clear. So you'll want to gradiate the colour towards the shore where the water gets shallow and you can see the sand/rocks through it.BeatBoxingBoo wrote:It's a beach. The colour depends on what it's reflecting and what you can see through it. So if the sky is deep blue then the sea will reflect that. But only where the water gets deep and dark. Think of window reflections and how you only see reflections clearly when the other side of the window is dark.
In regards to the reflection, since you have some gentle ripples in the water, the reflection should be distorted to match. Otherwise the sun looks like a thing floating in the water.
Hope that helps.

Not as detailed as the π one but heh. I would be more than pop flyin' if it was used for the forum. It would need to be shrunk a little beforehand though.Obnosim, Feb 26 wrote:I made a logo with inaccurate perspective and lighting instead of studying for exams
