Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
Immortality sure doesn't sound bad to me. Then think about the long term demographic impact. Edit: @Wordsmith :psyduck: Sorry bro, the link directed me to page 4 of the article at first. In regards to that, that's pretty fucking awesome from a scientific point of view. I also feel I should clarify ...

Very interesting, but 2 problems: 1. If you upload your consciences to a computer, you won't live for ever, a digital clone of you might live forever. 2. Exponential growth has it's limit and is approaching it. Computing power has been able to increase mainly because of size reduction of processor c...

Re: Science is interesting
Alright, thanks for the feedback. You're definitely right that your parents and psychiatrist fucked up. Most of what happened to you doesn't apply to me though, as I'm already in university. I'll have to look it up, but I think it isn't required to mention non-serious mental disorders on federal pap...

Excellent read about Valve and how it works.
This sentence struck me as odd though. Each conversation brought light to an extraordinary development culture that is dangerously approaching socialism

Re: Science is interesting
If you don't have it, Ritalin will not help you. It's termed a stimulant, and only works on those with ADD/ADHD due to the disorder causing a strange reverse effect of calmness. Ok, but let's assume I do have ADHD, would getting Ritalin be worth the pain in the booty to get diagnosed and tell my pa...

True, but they still do attack during the night, which leaves the rest of my point just as valid.

It might be worthy of note that I don't have a kid and am talking about myself. I'm also not diagnosed with ADHD, and don't really know if I have it or not. I'm just trying to find out if it's worth getting diagnosed really, and with finals coming up, I could use a boost to my studying :p.

Please post things in appropriate threads.
For example, this should have been posted in the Youtube thread in General Shenanigans, and not in a long dead thread about one of the comics.

Other alternatives such as? I heard it worked pretty well actually, patients being able to study for a much longer time. A friend of mine was a very heavy sufferer and he needed them or he went absolutely nuts.

Re: zombie apocalypse thread
Eh, that depends on your interpretation really. Their weakness to decay is pretty widely spread, but you could argue that the decay needs to be very far progressed before it starts hindering the zombie. Some might also say that they're more resistant to freezing temperatures, if you would assume the...

Fun fact, but not really related to the humidity discussion:
More people drown in the Sahara desert than those who die of dehydration. That's because when it rains, it always floods.

Yes, I was referring to
This implies they are cold blooded. Cold blooded animals are inactive during the night, since they need direct heat from the sun for many metabolical processes. They will freeze since nothing heats them from the inside.
