Re: What makes you pop flyin'?
I've started to feel like a person in recent months. It feels like I have a personality and opinions and things I like and stuff. People even notice when I'm there and take me in consideration. My relationship with my father has never been this good too. It's so weird.

Have car commercials become self-aware? There's this one I saw on TV about a litteral Soccer Mom who catches the eye of the Hot Single Father while fetching her kids at the soccer game while Stacy's Mom is playing, and yesterday I saw another one online where a boy gets emasculated by his older brot...

Re: Things that Mildly Annoy You
I don't know how old you and your brother are so I don't know it this is a possibility, but couldn't you [have your parents] make an agreement with him about who gets to use the Internet at a given time?
This caused so much drama between my sisters and me back when I was 12 and we were still on 56k.

Almost. But no I'm waiting for his partition to shrink and it's been nearly an hour and it's still not done and I don't get it so I hope I didn't just render everything unusable. I think he did a backup of his school projects and stuff but he has games and stuff on his Windows partition that are def...

Re: The Current Events Thread
tl;dr version: what Riku said. I think it's the autonomy. Federated kingdoms/states/provinces/etc. have limitations that autonomous entities lack. They can have their own laws but only within the spectrum of federal laws. Also some areas, like the environment (in Canada) and natural resources (in Sc...

Re: The Current Events Thread
According to a Scottish guy: But isn't it better to work together? Yes, and Scotland has benefited from the union with England to not have barriers of trade or movement. Now we have a larger union, the EU, to sort out the boring stuff around trade and movement we have no need of that middle layer of...

Re: The Current Events Thread
Wouldn't the same problem apply to normal elections? I think that error margin arises with every vote because you're always going to get only a snapshot of people's opinions at a given point. Anyway, the point of the referendum is to give the Scottish administration the mandate to negociate independ...

Re: The Current Events Thread
How about the thing in Scotland (I'm not sure if it should be here or in the Taboo thread) Polls showed a majority for the Yes for the first time this morning. It's interesting because the outcome will influence other would-be independant countries (in Spain and Canada, for starters). My opinion is ...

Re: Things that make you sad.
How old are you? I think this frequently happens to people around the age of 18-20, when you realize you're not a teenager anymore and you no longer enjoy the same things, but you don't have enough experience to know just what you like now and who you are exactly. It's happened to me, and to several...
