I really don't like the romance aspects of the show. I would be content with having Finn and Jake hopping universes and out adventuring for a whole season rather than go back to Ooo after a 2-parter and ending up with more Flame Princess and Princess Bubblegum stuff.

Or something more basic, like you have to navigate through an flooded and electrified hallway or maybe a couple of rooms of that. Maybe not as part of a main story segment, but maybe as a little extra side area where if you make it through, you get a tonic or a nostrum (the plasmids and gene tonics ...

I think it would fit more with fighting a splicer or two, or having water seep in through the rift after a Big Daddy wrecks a window in Rapture and you have to escape a flooded building in Columbia.
