Re: TOONAMI IS BACK BITCHES

Well Disney then decided to flood Disney XD with more tween sitcoms and dropped Shippuden. They probably put it up for sale because they knew that more sitcoms like Kickin' It and Pair of Kings could make them more cheddar/ratings than shows like Naruto or other anime ever could.

Re: Keep the ITU and WCIT from Limiting Internet Freedom.

Well I did post articles from big sites like BBC and the New York Times. The NYT article was made back in May though and I think people were still exhausted from fighting against SOPA and PIPA. The issue I have with it and the reason why I think it's a big deal is that the ITU is an organization tha...

Re: TOONAMI IS BACK BITCHES

I think Disney only showed Shippuden. I know it sounds weird, but could the two versions of Naruto, just the regular series and Shippuden, be two different licenses?

The conference is going on right now. The best we can do right now is hope that all of the people who signed petitions on Google and such get through to the people at the conference.

Re: TOONAMI IS BACK BITCHES

I know, and I would love to see it on Toonami, but I think the most logical explanation as to why they chose Naruto is because ViZ offered the license at a lower price than it would cost to get One Piece.

Re: TOONAMI IS BACK BITCHES

I think One Piece would've been a good choice, but my guess is that there's still some kind of stigma surrounding One Piece and localizing it. Like some kind of residual nerd rage still lingers after the 4Kids dub and AS is afraid of pissing people off.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics

Just heard some good news. Apparently after Genndy Tartakovsky finishes working on some movies for Sony, he'll be able to do some of his own stuff, and he's thinking of doing something with Samurai Jack. The issue is that he'll be free to do what he want in 2 years.

Re: TOONAMI IS BACK BITCHES

Bleach is on reruns for two months.

Also, how much does it actually cost for the license to broadcast an anime? How difficult would it be for them to get something like Tiger and Bunny or Baccano! ?

Re: Hurrah, A MLP Thread!

Derpy's been in all of the intros for Season 3, and gets some good panel-time in the comic book. Heck, she's the main pony for one of the many different covers that they printed for the first issue. Not sure when she'll appear again in the show, however. Hopefully the whiners didn't startle the arti...

The preliminary sketch is done, but I never got around to scanning and colouring it.

Now that I think about it, they're actually from Homestuck: The Radio Drama.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for

Because Christopher Poole winning and spelling out "the game" using the names of other canditates was totally better than this Person who created a website that has had a hefty cultural impact both online and off (for better or worse) vs. a person who wrote a high-selling erotic novel. Yeah, I thin...

Re: The Current Events Thread

The US Senate managed to pass an amendment to the NDAA bill that could remove the "Idefinite detention" portion of it. But that's only if it manages to get through the House of Representatives, is declared okay by the Supreme Court, and gets signed by the President.
