Re: The Current Events Thread
Yeah, that would make sense, but "register with the government" would set off flags in people's heads. Maybe news organizations could sign some manner of official government agreement to provide truthful information (within the abilities of a news organization) or face certain criminal charges. Sign...

Re: Keep the ITU and WCIT from Limiting Internet Freedom.
It just pathetic that the ITU tried to play down the whole "regulating the Internet" thing in the days leading up to the conference, then at the actual conference they shit the proverbial bed.

Re: Keep the ITU and WCIT from Limiting Internet Freedom.
The ITU is a UN organization, so they're less big media and more big government.TheStranger wrote:Of course they were, no one trying to limit the Internet is actually honest about anything, theyre being paid off by big media.

Re: Keep the ITU and WCIT from Limiting Internet Freedom.
The ITU tried to do some stupid sneaky stuff and showed their true colors. This kind of shit is unacceptable. They did some kind of non-serious vote to get "a feel of the room" but tried to turn said vote into the actual resolution. They failed at what they were trying to do, but it's still a massi...

Re: The Current Events Thread
It's sad that America is a country where you can compare a lightly alcoholic beverage to deadly weapons because there really IS that much of a demand for said deadly weapons by way too many people for the dumbest reasons. The sad fact is that the NYT is right, but it's not only America; wherever so...

At least there's plenty more Chrono Trigger and Eternal Darkness for them to run through.
Also, these guys over here are doing Let's Plays that are both heavily informative and quite hilarious.

Eh. There's only so much you can say about Other M, and there's still plenty of stuff you can talk about regarding Metroid Fusion in and of itself without comparing and contrasting it to Other M.

Re: Movies
I think it's supposed to be because, to the normal person in the world of the movie, these giant robots seem like towering colossi that shouldn't exist. We take giant robots in fiction for granted, but I bet that if one actually existed, people on the business end of the giant robots would be shitti...

Re: Movies
It looks like it takes some influences from anime, but I think Del Toro wants the main focus to be "Two pilots work together to pilot a giant robot and beat the shit out of giant monsters."

Re: Movies
I predict this becoming distressingly similar to Transformers (Directed by Micheal Bay). Is it because of all of the collateral damage, explosions and such? Giant robots fighting giant monsters brings a 100% guarantee of buildings and monuments getting destroyed, as many movies have shown. Destruct...

Re: Movies
Although, the main Jaeger (Their name for the giant robots) is supposed to be an old and obsolete one that is put out there as their last hope, so the disjointed speech kind of makes sense (Keywords "kind of") but it's still just taking the voice 100% from something and then sticking into something ...

Re: The Elder Scrolls
If they tried to do all of Tamriel, they'd run the risk of spreading everything too thin. I'd strongly prefer if they put as much effort as possible into making the worlds as detailed as they can.
